(‘bā.bē) n.  1. The apple of our eyes.  2. The

spring in our step.  3. The song in our

hearts.  4. The light in our lives.

Baby

The Full Nelson Experience recently grew 8lbs fuller.  Introducing the newest member, Vann Martin Nelson.  Vann was born on January 28, 2016 at 1:45am.  He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long.  He is perfect and our hearts are full.

“Tiny hands and tiny feet, make life complete.”

Sleeping

Vann has a very sweet disposition.  He loves to be held and snuggled and cries only when he’s hungry.  He stares intently when you talk or sing to him.  It’s only been 1 month but we can’t imagine our family without him.

Baby Sleep

Sleeping Baby

It’s amazing how something so tiny can fill us with so much joy.

Kids and Vann

The kids are in love with their baby brother.

Although Madelyn’s done this twice before, is very experienced when it comes to being a big sister, and takes on much responsibility when caring for her siblings, she still continues to embrace the role.

Madelyn and Vann

Maddox is mesmerized by baby Vann.  He holds him and just gazes into his eyes.  He dreamed of having a baby brother.  It was a dream he never thought would come true.  But it has and he’s not letting a moment slip by.

Maddox and Vann

Clara is a little mom.  I’m quite sure she thinks Vann is her doll.  She always needs to know where he is and is never far behind.  Clara doesn’t like waiting to hold him when the other kids are holding him but she’s not in the least bit jealous when Jon or I hold him.  She’s fascinated by his tiny fingers and toes and loves to feel his soft skin and fuzzy hair.

Clara and Vann

Over the past month, Vann has already grown and changed so much.  It’s exciting to see each child develop and evolve into their own person.  As we know, our time with a newborn goes by far too quickly.  That is why we have taken every opportunity to enjoy this precious newborn stage.  The past month has consisted of lots of love, cuddles and cozy naps. The perfect beginning to life.

“I don’t want to kiss you good night
So I’ll just keep on holding you tight
‘Cause I know you’ll change and you’ll grow
You’ll get bigger with each morning light…”Baby Yawn

Magical moments like these are what make my heart skip a beat.

Welcome to the world baby Vann.  Welcome to our family.  We hope you like it here.

Thanks for sharing, Mara! It is always such a pleasure to see your family in pictures. I love seeing each of them. They will all 3 make great parents one day with your example. Wish we were closer so I could mong on to him and them! It’s also so fun to read your blog. Great writing, Mara! Hope we can see you all this Summer when you come to visit. Hopefully we can talk on the phone soon. I know how busy number 4 is keeping you. Great job, Jon and Mara! Give the other three a hug from me! 🙂

Thanks Laura! Your sweet words always mean so much to me! We wished we lived closer too. Maybe you could move to Hawaii. That would be closer right? Call me soon.

Thanks Theresa! I don’t know that I’m so courageous, I just take one day at a time and hope for the best.

Thanks so much Julie! He’s already going on 8 months and doesn’t feel so new anymore. New photos are definitely in order. Yes, we do have a full and busy house. It keeps things fun and interesting!
